When & Where is Snow Machine Queenstown?

Snow Machine is taking place on September 10,11,12 and 13 2025. The festival is located in the stunning Queenstown, the adventure capital of the world! We will once again have 4 en-piste stages for you to enjoy during the day, followed by our Main Arena event from Thursday-Saturday located in Queenstown.

What does the festival entail?

Snow Machine Festival is four days and three nights of music, snow, après, adventure and so much memory making! Hit the slopes each morning before making your way to one of our four après stages across Coronet Peak and The Remarkables. Enjoy tabletop dancing en-piste as the artists from our line up hit the DJ decks.

After that, make your way back down into town, and freshen up before heading to our Main Arena for a night of live music in full festival mode! But the night doesn’t stop there, some of Queenstown’s hottest bars and clubs will be hosting official after parties each night! Grab your friends and bounce between the venues for a dance before you head to bed, ready to do it all again the next day!

Throughout the week, we’ll also be hosting a number of additional events that you can grab a ticket to! Stay tuned to our socials as we announce these in the coming months..

What does early bird pricing mean?

We managed to secure in great earlybird pricing on Lift passes and hotel rooms this year. Packages in this category are limited and the price will increase from the 1st of April

What does the festival entail?

How do I get to Queenstown?

There are direct flights from most Australian capital cities and all major domestic airports in New Zealand to Queenstown International Airport (ZQN).
Please touch base with the Snow Machine Team in order to book.

Where can I ski/snowboard?

Queenstown is home to two world class ski resorts, The Remarkables and Coronet Peak. They are both well suited to all levels and abilities.

Both ski resorts are a short drive from the city centre – we highly recommend jumping on a bus or carpooling as the car parks can get very busy!

How do I get around town?

Most accommodation is within walking distance to the town centre, however if your property is a further out of town there is a great public transport system and plenty of taxis available.

Do I need a passport to travel to New Zealand?

If you are travelling from outside of New Zealand, yes. Queenstown is an international location and you will require a valid passport for travel. If you are not travelling on an Australian passport, make sure you have the correct visa.

What are the requirements if I am travelling from Australia?

You must follow all current New Zealand entry requirements as well as any new requirements which may come into effect prior to arrival, including vaccination and testing requirements. You can check and follow all departure and re-entry requirements for New Zealand and Australia here.

How do I get from the airport to my accommodation??

Queenstown airport is a only 15 min drive from the city centre and there are many options to get there.

  • Return airport shuttles
  • Book Car hire through the Snow Machine team
  • Jump on the local bus into town
  • Jump in a taxi, we recommend Queenstown Taxis or Green Cabs
Do I need to carry chains?

If you plan to drive up the mountain you are required to carry chains with you at all times, you will only be asked to fit them when conditions require. Please note 4WD vehicles are still required to carry chains.

What else is there to do in Queenstown other than ski?

Queenstown is known as the adventure capital of the world so the activity options are endless. From adrenaline pumping skydiving and bungy jumping to more relaxed winery tours, scenic flights and health spas. Activities will be available on the Snow Machine Store soon.

Do I need to be double vaccinated to attend?

Snow Machine will follow the New Zealand government’s COVID-19 protection framework required for events.

What are the main transport options during Snow Machine week?

Please note that transport is NOT included in ticket or package bookings.

We will sell mountain transfer passes on our online store which give you access to the shuttles going to both Coronet Peak and The Remarkables.

Main Arena Shuttles will also be sold in the weeks running up to the festival. You can also pick these up in the Snow Machine Store during festival week.

Bus timetables and locations will be released on the Snow Machine App in the weeks before the festival.

How do I get to Queenstown?

Package Information

What is included in the packages?

This year, we have the option to select between either 5 night or 7 night packages.

5 night packages include: 5 nights accommodation at your choice of lodging (9th – 14th September), 3 day lift passes for Coronet Peak and The Remarkables, entry to all après stages en-piste, and 3 nights at the Main Arena

7 night packages include: 7 nights accommodation at your choice of lodging (8th – 15th September), 5 day lift passes for Coronet Peak and The Remarkables, entry to all après stages en-piste, and 3 nights at the Main Arena

Are the packages refundable?

Packages are non refundable once purchased. Please check the Terms & Conditions for the full refund policy.

Do I need travel insurance?

We strongly recommend you take out travel insurance at the time of purchasing your package or ticket, to cover you for unforeseen events that arise prior to travel. For an online quote or further details click here.

If you’re planning on skiing or snowboarding, please ensure you select Snow Cover and read the PSD to make sure it is right for you.

Is breakfast included in the packages?

Breakfast is included in SOME packages, it will be clearly stated on the packages page. If it is not included it can be added for an additional cost at most properties.

When will I receive my confirmation and travel vouchers?

A confirmation from our ticketing partners will be sent as soon as you make the booking, you will then receive an itinerary from us within 4 weeks. Your travel vouchers will be sent to you via the Snow Machine App in the weeks running up to the festival!

Are there payment plans available?

Yes, we have different payment plans available for both tickets and packages!

For tickets only, you will pay a $199 per person deposit upon initial booking. The remaining $300 is the due on the 31st March. Any ticket purchases after this point will require full payment upfront. You can always choose to pay upfront as well.

For packages, a $199 per person deposit is required upon booking. The second deposit deadline of $400 per person is due on the 31st March and final balance is due on the 16th June. Any bookings made after the payment deadline dates will require payment within 48 hours, i.e. if you book in April, $599 per person is required within 48 hours. For bookings made after the final payment deadline, payment in full has to be submitted within 48 hours.

Can I buy a festival only ticket?

Yes, festival only tickets are available on our website.

Please note tickets do not include a lift pass, this will need to be purchased separately.

Is there parking available at the festival?

There is free parking available at Coronet Peak and The Remarkables. There is no offical parking available at the main stage, however street parking is available in surrounding areas.

Can I bring my own alcohol to the event?

No, all venues are fully licensed so you are not permitted to bring your own alcohol to the event. Bag searches will be conducted before entering the event and any alcohol will be confiscated.

Will there be first aid onsite?

Yes, there will be first aid on hand at all events.

When will set times be released?

Set times will be released via the Snow Machine app a few weeks before the event.

Where will the festival be located?

From Wednesday through Saturday, you’ll find 2 après stages pumping at both Coronet Peak and The Remarkables during the day.

At each mountain, there is one stage located at the base station of the mountain, and the other is located en-piste (accessible only with lift pass by skiing/boarding in and out).

At night (Thursday – Saturday), the Main Arena will be located in Queenstown.

Will there be food and drink to purchase?

Yes, there will be a range of food and beverage options available at all events, including vegetarian and vegan options.

Can I pay with credit card at the events?

Yes, card is accepted at all events. Après and the Main Arena will be cashless. Please be sure to bring your credit/debit cards or make sure your phone is fully charged if you’re planning to use Apple Pay or Google Pay.

What is the age limit for entry?

You must be 18+ to attend the main stage event, make sure you bring valid ID.

ID will be checked upon entry EVERY night.

What forms of ID will be accepted?

You will need to bring a valid photo ID to be permitted into the festival. The following forms of ID will be accepted;

  • Current New Zealand Drivers License
  • Current passport (for Australian and international attendees)
