Ubiquitous in the Australian media scene, Danny Clayton is a talented host, interviewer, film maker, producer and festival DJ.
Danny is enigmatic, passionate but most importantly… he is just an all-round nice guy.
Danny has been the face of Yahoo’s longform interview show Build, filming not only in Sydney but in the New York City studio as well. A perpetually curious gentleman, he has finished filming his 10 part series with Verizon Media called Conspiracies Unpacked co-hosted by world famous futurist Richard Hames.
After being thrust in front of a camera at the tender age of 16 years old, Danny became one of subscription television’s longest serving presenters which even earned him six nominations at the annual ASTRA Awards and a nomination for a Logie.
It would be hard to find someone with more flying time, from filming thousands of hours of LIVE television, interviewing hundreds of the world’s biggest celebrities with his warm, quirky style we have seen him put the likes of Will Ferrell, Kristen Stewart, Lady Gaga, Coldplay and the Foo Fighters at ease with his friendly demeanour…. not to mention that one time Katy Perry kissed him during an interview. (Don’t get him started about it).
A globetrotting adventurer, he has explored the world with Channel [V]’s travel Adventure show B430 filming surf events in Mexico, mountain climbing in Japan, exploring glaciers in Iceland and of course he danced with the girls of the Moulin Rouge in Paris. And this barely scratches the surface.
A music lover at heart he hosts ‘Rock On Q’, Qantas’ inflight radio show and previously co-hosted the ‘Planet Vevo’ radio show which aired weekly nationally for Southern Cross Austereo Hit Network.
Danny’s also favourite with clients – Danny worked with Ben & Jerry’s on their Chunks for a Change ice cream tour keeping a video diary of his experience; he was involved in the Cotton On Fifth Army campaign to raise awareness of youth issues; part of the Ford EcoSport ‘Discovery’ campaign as a judge. More recently Danny interviewed Year 5 students about the issue of youth homelessness as part of The Salvation Army Australia’s appeal.
A keen DJ + MC, Danny has played at and hosted a variety of different clubs, events, parties, client launches and gigs from Nike’s Indoor soccer competition to Nutri-grain’s glow in the dark skate park event to DJ’ing between the bands at the Falls Festival to inside a female toilet block at Lost Events: Lost on the Cat Walk.
Also a man with a heart, he took part in the annual Rock n’ Ride motorbike ride from Brisbane to Melbourne, Big Day Out alongside Kate Peck and members of Grinspoon, Silverchair, Bluejuice and Art v Science raising awareness for Headspace, the national youth mental health foundation.
